Post Future of the Challenger

The March 7, 2010 of The Detroit News published an article about Chrysler's future. It was interesting to read about the Challenger:

"The new cars retain much of the same chassis as the outgoing models, but the look has been totally redone inside and out. The third vehicle made in Brampton, the Dodge Challenger, is not receiving the same overhaul, Rideout said. A decision has not been made on whether there will be a replacement for the Challenger when its lifecycle ends in 2014, Chrysler officials said during presentations in November on the company's five-year plan."

So, it looks like the Challenger will be around for 4 more years.

The 6-year run of the Challenger (2008-2014), however, is probably conditioned on sales. My local dealer has 25 unsold Challengers on his lot (including 10 SRTs)!

Same here in my town, local dealer has at least 8 Challengers, all have been sitting for quite some time.
