My first car was a challenger!

Mine was a 72 bought in 80 was black (metallic) with gold stripes!

Bad custom paint job stripped it with a razer blade!

Then went plum crazy over a black base that was 3/4 dry before the purple went on,stayed light for about 2 hours then sucked into the black and was darker than a prowler!

318 base car, added a bulge hood, duels and a kickin' craig powerplay 8-track!
Cibie headlights where the first mod!

Actually still have them !

Had the t-handle shifter from when it was junked, and put it in my BLUE 79 300.

Best bolt in mod done to it!

Drove it for 5 year+, boy if it could talk!

Anyone else have one for a first car?

My first car was a 72 Challenger. I bought the car for a hundred bucks from my neighbor back in September of 1997 (at the ripe age of 14). Factory 318 car. Still have it today. Now it has a mild small block with 2 four barrel Carter Muscle Car Carbs and an automatic transmission. Installed a T/A hood and rallye stripes. Still have the car today and thinking about making it my daily driver again since my commute is only 3.5 miles one way and why not. Hoping to install a 6.1 hemi backed by a 518 overdrive before too long and other nice features like ac, power windows and brembo brakes.

my first car was a challenger

My first car was a '70 R/T 440 Six Pack Challenger. Purple with no vinyl top and very few options. It is a four speed car and has few options but it did have the Track Pack with the four speed and a Rally dash, but no console and it had the manual outside drivers mirror. It originally had the longitudinal R/T stripe. I Got it for $750 and it was pretty clapped out, but it was running and had no dents and just a bit of rust at the bottom of the rear window. On the way home, I drove down the Great Highway, which runs the along the Pacific Ocean at the west end of San Francisco. I drove it as fast as it could go and I can't tell you how fast, because I was so busy driving that I diden't dare look down at the speedo. The next day, when I had the front suspension checked, it was all shot. One of the ball joints had half an inch of vertical slop. I was lucky. I still have the car.

I have three Challengers. Just one of anything I really like is never enough.

You must be in the sunny south where they don't rot away?
