Need a name for this part!

I am re-doing my 73 challenger 340. From the carb to the coil there is a resistor that I can't find to replace it...What is that part called! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone have a diagram of parts that sit on top of the intake? Or even a full engine diagram?

gn300 is right. It sounds like the ballast resistor. and yup get a spare lol. There is a way to by pass it, but that's been too many years ago for me to remember how. Had to do it to my 78 Power Wagon to get home one time.

Yep it limits current to the coil. Don't want to just remove it or you can fry the coil.

GN300 is on the money. Keep one in the glove box. Saved my bacon several times.
