Replace button panels in console?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone's thought this out or modified their center console yet:
I'm thinking of the little curved snap panels by your hazard and ESP buttons being a great place for extra switches. I'd like them to look factory but use them to control line-lock/exhaust cutouts/N2O pwr-purge, whatever else you can think of.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Okay, got a fix for it! No hole need drilled in the car, nothing need be hacked;
I got a "project box" from Radio Shack -- Measures 3X2X1" and cost $2.29.
This fits great in betwixt the little change cup (or whatever the hell that's for) in front of the shifter and the lower part of the console.
Ya gotta pull the top of the center console and sorta slide them back into place together. It holds fine with no hardware and makes a good spot for a few switches.
"If it ain't broke, Modify it!"
All the best,
Stretch

Or a console out of a wrecked chally and keep the OEM one stock for
replacement after the mods have been removed and the chally is ready
for the next owner.
Thats the route I am taking and leaving the RadioSnack hardware for the
prototypers.
