Backlight Louvers

I ran across this web site for aluminum rear backlight louvers. These are not the cheap ABS variety, but are patterned after the 1970 (A44 option) original, with hood pins and hinges. They either bolt on or can be secured by 3M tape. They are expensive at $1,200, but you get what you pay for.

What you you guys think of this look? I loved them on my 71 'Cuda but am not sure about them on my SRT.

I've seen the site before. I'm torn as to how much I like it. I felt the same way with the originals. They did to a great job of putting the product together however. I like this version better than any of the others I've seen. I agree it's a chunk of cash, but if you like the look this would be the one from what I've seen.... Sorry I'm not much help in deciding I'm afraid..

Good luck!!!

The backlight louvers that I had on my 1971 'Cuda were secured by chrome studs and hood pins. Since the new $1,200 versions are secured only by 3M tape, I wonder about the theft threat?

On second thought...I guess if someone wanted to steal my louvers, all they would have needed was a Philips head screwdriver to remove the 6 sheetmetal screws that secured the two roof-top hinges.
