Does anyone out there in Challenger Heaven know where to find the hood or at least the working hood vents from the concept challenger? Such a mean look yet they tease us and not produce.

The concept version hood vents won't be produced. I wish it would've made production. The vents are actually linked to the gas pedal, everytime you step on the gas, the vents open, neat thing. I think the cost wasn't acceptable for them to do this. When they say a hood is functional, all it does now is channel air into the engine bay, not like the old days where it was mated to the air cleaner.

I understand all it does now is channel air in to the engine bay. I was just curious if maybe the aftermarket world has tried to re-produce the working vents. I also know how they worked on the concept via the gas pedal. Thanks though.

I guess I misunderstood your original post. I think you will have to give it sometime as the car is basically new. There will be alot of aftermarket stuff coming out. Someboy might even do the hood vent.

I don't recall the vendor right now, but recently saw a kit to add the hood vents into the main air flow intake, rather than just hose air into the engine compartment as they come standard.
So if you have been waiting for this, you can be sure it is already out there. But for me, since only adds mionor functionality and no eye candy appeal, so why bother? I am considering a shaker hood that is functional and probably why I didnt take note of the vendor. But that is me and my car, and you can do whatever you want to your car. David |

I think harwood has a kit out for silverados that is much like the old chevelle... It wouldnt be hard to do... just uses vacuum... I'm sure the aftermarket will handle it eventually...

Actually the origionals wern't conected to anything.
a lot had hood pins ..why ..more than looks at speed the build up of pressure would raise the hood almost an inch above the fender line! Vacume would work better than a linkage set up!
