New Member trying to decide if i should get 1, and how.
I'm new to this forum as of today and I'm trying to decide whether i should re kindle the old magic of the Challenger or hold serve. Many years ago i owned a 70 383 r/t and i took the 383 out and replaced it with a 440 magnum bored .30 over, i put 4:30-1 gears in it rebuilt the 727 torque flight tranny. then i attached 340 emblems to the hood. all those camaro guys would come around wanting to race me thinking i had a 340 under the hood. I smoked them all by 6 car lengths or more. They were shocked, but i only let a few of them know i had a 440...lol. I currently own an 06 Lexus is 350 306 hp luxury sedan, its a great car, smooth and fast capable of 13.3 quarter mile runs. I went down to the dealer and test drove an r/t and was surprised at how well built this Challenger fealt. My issue is, the dealer does'nt want to give me a fair price for my Lexus, claiming that he cant sell it off his lot at a profit so he would have to wholsale it...My lexus is in perfect shape with only 17k on it. i also own a 06 4x4 that i'm keeping i need it for work, so if i sell my car i still have a ride till i receive delivery of the challenger. I'm thinking of selling my car out right privately before i get my challenger say like spring maybe. Should i order it now for spring or take whats on the lot in march 09...feel free to express your opnions. Thanks...

All of the "early special orders" are in and the dealers are just starting to get their "stock" orders. From what Im seeing (in a good car market) Challengers are not moving like the dealers thought they would, probably because of economy. LOTS of lookers but very few buyers so far. Delaers in the area that were asking $5K over for R/Ts on order a month ago are now asking sticker or even $1K below for units on the ground. So you can make yourself a good deal in the next couple months by checking around your area. You should at least check dealers up to 200-250 miles as some are still holding tight on MSRP. DO NOT special order now because you will pay sticker and your order might not be filled until 2010 model which might not even happen. Bird in the hand, my man... ![]() |

06 lexus with 17k and they don't think they can sell it?
Why would they have to wholesale it with such low milage that doesn't make sence! Find another dealer that will deal!

He gave me some song and dance about the kind of people who come into their dealership for used cars, dont have the money to buy a Lexus at say 31k , which is what he would try to sell it for.. he only wanted to give me 24k for my car... i told him to get out of town, i can sell it myself for 31k , I owe nothing on the car. I'm gonna put an add in the paper...see how folks respond........
