tips for someone new?

when i get my challenger i am hopefully going to be taking it to the track every once in a while and when i do, it will be my first time, and was wondering if any one had any tips for someone new to the tracks.

Dont stage tell the other person is done with their burn out and all ready to go, some people and tracks get a little toutchy about it. Something about feeling rushed.

As was already said, try to stage after the other driver. But don't be too obvious or the starter will just trip the tree on you..

Keep your window up. It keeps you from forgetting to close it.

Focus on the tree. And only on the tree. Don't worry about what the other car or driver is doing and once you start to stage, forget about the starter.

Carefully watch the lights. Make one run waiting for the green and then punching it. This works great if you have cat-like reactions.

If not, On the last yellow, hit it. You have to anticipate a bit. If you go red the first time, then count to 1 on the last yellow, and then hit it.

And just like the guy who asked the beatnik how to get to Carnegie Hall, the real answer is.... like.. practice man, practice....

Oh, and one other thing... You may be required to wear a helmet...
