T/A style exhaust...

i'm planning on getting a Challenger in the spring....Dark Titanium Metallic. odds are, because we're still in a W economy, i'll be getting the V6. i would, however like to do the T/A style exhaust on it (pipes exiting before the rear wheels). does anyone know if this is a possibility on the new cars? thanks!

Not without some major reworking of what is underneath..

It is supposedly going to be very difficult to even add sidepipes to the Challenger..
but until I get mine I won't know how difficult..

You would want to add sidepipes?

If the factory is considering a t/a package, then it should be possable to put the pipes on.

All greatness takes hard work!

Stripes and a hood to i assume?

well, while i'm sure it would be nice, there's no way Dodge is going to offer a FULL T/A package. they'll offer the hood (as we've seen), the stripes and the spoiler (go-wing is already available), but to offer the exhaust would make the car that much more expensive. the T/A package would probably add another $4000 or more to whatever Challenger package you already get. you can make it cheaper in the aftermarket.

although, i've already decided i'm getting a shaker hood

I really would have to say no on those pipes, just don't think they will work on todays Challenger. As for the hood, they have a T/A style hood coming out, should be by the time your car gets here.. If you were talking abt the T/A style exhaust, then that might work.

A "true " t/a style package would be so easy for the factory to put together.

How you might ask?

Hood is in the parts book, spoiler is on the car now,add the srt suspention to
the r/t package instead of side exhaust add the duel rectangular "classic" tips (that should already be there).

Add side stripes and keep it limited to the same 2399 as in 70.

Break it down, and number the cars in series of 3 colors with production limited to 500 units per color for US .

and 300 of each color for Canada.

T/A package was $865.70 in 1970

Western specials came with rear exiting exhaust!

First run purple, lime green and yellow!

Added cost of the package same as the daytona package on a charger.

No brainer, keep the cool colors in a limited packge and sell them all quick, it worked with the 4-door charger!

t/a style exhaust might not be possible the gas tank is right there maybe if you make heat sheilds but if you use original t/a tips they would be to big close to the ground

Side exit exhaust has been done already, but I can't remember where I saw it. One of the SEMA cars has it on a race car, I believe. It looks pretty good!
