Not trying to sound like a mother hen.... WEAR IT !! I've had multiple knee surgeries over many years due to a severe car accident. Prior to that accident, I only wore a seatbelt when I was street racing. I spent months in the hospital and met others who didn't wear seatbelts. Each of those had been seriously injured, injuries that would not have happened if they'd been wearing their seatbelt. One driver had both of his knees severed when he slid forward on impact; the lower dash did the "surgery". He had multiple surgeries (like I did) and had permanent damage from the accident. Been there; done that. Since that accident, I always wear my seatbelt and I make my passengers wear theirs. You don't want to go through what I went through and what those others are still going through.

Fasten your seatbelt ....these cars have airbags as well and are designed to work together so... the last thing you want is to be going towards an airbag while it is heading towards you!

1st post i see..... Welcome from Nova Scotia!

on my 2008, you turn on the ignition (not started, just in accessory mode as I recall) and latch & unlatch the drivers belt while sitting in the seat about 10 times as quick as you can. I forget the actual number of times, I think it was around 10. But that worked for me.
